Miller Family: Fun in the cold

October has been one crazy month. From wedding to family portraits and then add in a vacation, I have been non-stop the whole month. This weekend I am heading to Chicago to continue my "city walk" photo project series that I have been working on and I am excited to share that project here soon. In the next few weeks I will have many posts from some recent sessions highlighting some of my favorite moments of each.
Well enough catching up, I wanted to share some photos from my session with the Miller family from Homestead Park in Hilliard. The Miller family received their session as they were the highest bidder on a silent auction item I had donated benefiting the American Heart Association. So wanted to say first, thanks to them for supporting a great organization. The day of our session, Ohio weather decided to not play along but the family gave smiles the entire time. The weekend before it was around 75 degrees at 10am but this day, was a chilly 40 degrees.

I have become a big fan of Homestead Park for my family sessions due to the amount of different types photos you can take at the same location. We started at one end of the park and just walked the entire park stopping for photos when the location fit what we were looking to do.

One of the funniest moments of the day was towards the end of our session. Norah, their daughter, was ready for our session to end and take her nap. We attempted to have her take a photo with her grandparents but that’s when the crying out to her mother started. We decided to embrace it and have the grandparents "pose" the same way she was, this was the result!

Despite the cold weather we had a great time during the session and the photos came out really well. I am looking forward to some fun summer time photos of their family so I can capture them letting loose and having fun!

Like I said earlier, over the next few weeks I will be posting about sessions from September and October, as well as, bringing you the first few parts of my city walk photo project.
